Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra's Artist in Resendece Olli Mustonen has planned three interesting concerts for the HPO's autumn season. On Tuesday, October 23rd Mustonen will play Bach, Shostakovich and Rachmaninov in a recital concert. This concert is already sold out.

On October 31st and 1st of November Olli Mustonen mounts the podium as conductor. One of the items on the programme is his first symphony, Tuuri (2012), for baritone and orchestra. The text, based on a poem by Eino Leino (1878–1926), describes the bleak fate of the arrogant person.

Finnish music is celebrated on Saturday 8th of December. Olli Mustonen has planned a concert in which various small ensembles take the lead. There will also be two of Mustonen’s own compositions: the solo sonata Sinuhe (2006) alluding to the historical novel by Mika Waltari, and Nonet No. 1 (1995) for strings.
